Greyhounds Sweep Elmira to Begin 2025 Season
ELMIRA, N.Y. --- The Moravian University women’s volleyball team opened the 2025 season and the tenure of new Head Coach Amable Martinez with a 3-0 sweep of host Elmira (N.Y.) College Friday evening to start the Elmira Invitational.

How It Happened
- The Soaring Eagles had an early 4-1 lead in the opening set before the Hounds scored 11 of 12 points to take a 12-5 edge. The Blue & Grey took the first set 25-14 for the 1-0 lead
- Moravian earned the first three points of the second set and posted a 25-6 set win for a 2-0 advantage
- The Greyhounds snapped a 2-2 tie in the third set with five straight points on the way to a 25-13 victory to complete the sweep
- Junior outside hitter Kelly Tempalsky led the Hounds with eight kills, eight digs and two service aces while sophomore opposite hitter Ella Kilko also had eight kills to go with a pair of blocks
- Sophomore middle blocker Kate McBrierty posted five kills, three blocks, four assists and two digs while junior middle blocker Payton Reuber had five kills and two blocks
- Junior outside hitter Gabbie Reigner recorded seven service aces, four digs and two kills while senior setter Ally Plitnick added 23 assists, seven digs, two kills and a pair of service aces
- Junior libero Sam Love contributed 11 digs and four service aces while junior defensive specialist Molly Hughes had three digs
- Sophomore defensive specialist Madalyn Kocsis and freshman defensive specialist Lauren Donnelly both had two service aces
