Greyhounds Come Up Short Versus Marywood on Senior Night
BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- The Moravian University women’s volleyball squad dropped three close sets in a non-conference match versus Marywood University on Senior Night in Johnston Hall Wednesday evening.

How It Happened
- The Greyhounds jumped out to a 4-1 lead in the opening set before the Pacers scored eight of nine points to take a 9-5 edge. The Blue & Grey closed within a point at 20-19 before Marywood captured the game 25-21
- Moravian led 4-2 early in the second set while the Pacers would knot the score at 7-7. The Hounds ran off four straight points for an 11-7 advantage, and Moravian still had a four-point lead at 21-17. However, Marywood finished the set with eight of the final ten points to take the game 25-23 and push its edge to 2-0
- The Greyhounds scored the first three points of the third set and led 7-3 before the Pacers scored seven consecutive points to a 10-7 edge. The Blue & Grey countered with four points to move back on top 11-10. The squads traded points until Marywood turned a 19-18 lead into a 25-20 set win to finish off the match
- Prior to the contest, the Greyhounds honored seniors Caroline Melillo and Ally Plitnik and manager Harrison Krauss for their four years with the program
Inside the Numbers
- Junior outside hitter Gabbie Reigner led the Hounds with eight kills to go with eight digs and four service aces while freshman middle blocker Morgan Holland added six kills and three blocks
- Junior middle blocker Payton Reuber also had six kills to go with five blocks while Melillo had two kills and three digs
- Sophomore opposite hitter Ella Kilko and junior outside hitter Kelly Tempalsky each posted two kills while freshman opposite hitter Adi Schwerdtfeger had one kill
- Plitnik recorded 21 assists, 16 digs and three blocks while junior libero Sam Love had 24 digs and three assists
- Junior defensive specialist Molly Hughes registered 11 digs while sophomore defensive specialist Madalyn Kocsis had eight digs
