BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- Moravian University Head Women's Volleyball Coach Amable Martinez will be stepping from his position leading the Greyhounds on February 6 to become the Head Coach at NCAA Division I Fairleigh Dickinson University.
"Though Coach Martinez was only with us for a brief time, he made an immediate impact on the volleyball program and our department," stated Director of Athletics & Recreation Mary Beth Spirk. "We wish him much success as he moves onto the next phase of his career path. We are grateful for his passion and dedication. I know that he will be successful on and off the court at FDU. We are grateful for his brief yet quality time here at Moravian."
Martinez joined the Hounds in July 2025, and in his lone season in Bethlehem he guided Moravian to a 14-14 overall record and a 5-4 mark in Landmark Conference action as the Greyhounds clinched their first Landmark Conference Tournament berth since 2017. The Blue & Grey had a pair of student-athletes named to the Landmark All-Conference Teams this past fall.
Martinez is returning to coach at the NCAA Division I level where he spent the eight years before coming to Moravian.
The Greyhounds are slated to begin the 2026 season on Tuesday, September 1 when the Blue & Grey host DeSales University in Johnston Hall.
Moravian's national search for its next Head Women's Volleyball Coach will begin shortly.
