Hounds Fall at Catholic to Begin 2025 Landmark Conference Season
WASHINGTON, D.C. --- The Moravian University women’s volleyball squad fell to host The Catholic University of America, 3-0, to begin the 2025 Landmark Conference season Friday evening.

How It Happened
- After the Cardinals scored the opening point, the Greyhounds scored eight of the next nine points to take an 8-2 lead. Catholic slowly closed the gap and tied the set at 16-16. The Blue & Grey took a 19-18 edge before the Cardinals recorded the final seven points for a 25-19 set victory and a 1-0 lead
- The squads traded the lead back-and-forth in the second set with Moravian ahead 16-14. However, Catholic registered eight of nine points to take a 22-17 advantage. The Hounds got back within two points at 23-21 before the Cardinals scored the final two points for a 25-21 set win and a 2-0 edge
- Moravian had a 2-0 lead to start the third set while Catholic countered with five points to make it 5-2. The Cardinals held a 12-8 advantage before the Greyhounds ran off five straight points for a 13-12 lead. From that point, neither squad had more than a two-point edge with the Blue & Grey up 25-24 when Catholic scored the final three points for a 27-25 victory to clinch the match
Inside the Numbers
- Sophomore middle blocker Kate McBrierty led Moravian with ten kills while junior outside hitter Kelly Tempalsky had seven kills and nine digs
- Junior outside hitter Gabbie Reigner registered six kills and eight digs while sophomore opposite hitter Ella Kilko posted four kills and four digs
- Senior setter Ally Plitnick paced the Hounds with 16 assists, six digs and two blocks while freshman setter Aubrey Pringle had 12 assists and four digs
- Junior libero Sam Love contributed 16 digs and two assists while junior defensive specialist Molly Hughes added nine digs and a kill
- Freshman middle blocker Morgan Holland and freshman hitter Lauren Donnelly both had one kill with Holland recording two blocks
