Moravian Drops Game to Mount Saint Joseph at RussMatt Invitational
AUBURNDALE, Fla. --- The Moravian University baseball team dropped a 10-1 decision to Mount Saint Joseph (Ohio) College at the RussMatt Invitational Wednesday morning at Lake Myrtle Park.

How It Happened
- The Lions took a 1-0 lead in the top of the first inning
- The Greyhounds answered with a run in the bottom of the first to knot the score at 1-1. Graduate student designated hitter Cole Cherkas connected on a one-out solo homer to center field, his first home run of the season
- Mount Saint Joseph countered with five runs in the top of the second frame to move back in front, 6-1
- The Lions scored twice more in the top of the third and once in the fourth for a 9-1 advantage
- Mount Saint Joseph extended the edge to 10-1 with a run in the top of the sixth inning to finish the scoring
Inside the Numbers
- Moravian collected just three hits including Cherkas' homer, his ninth career home run, a ground rule double by graduate student center fielder David Olsakowski and a single by graduate student left fielder/catcher Connor Wengryn
- Junior Ross Huffman started on the mound for the Blue & Grey and had five strikeouts in 2.2 innings of action while freshman Jack Steinel tossed 2.2 innings. Freshman Tyler Bonelli pitched 1.2 innings and registered three strikeouts while sophomore Ben Cogar tossed an inning in relief. Sophomore Nate McBride pitched the final inning of the contest
