Greyhounds Top Juniata to Win Landmark Conference Series

How It Happened
- The Greyhounds took a 1-0 lead in the top of the first inning as freshman shortstop David Vozzo drew a leadoff walk and raced home on an RBI single from sophomore first baseman Wyatt Harrar
- The Blue & Grey made it 2-0 with a run on the second inning with freshman second baseman Emmit Budick leading off with a double and scored on a bases loaded RBI single from graduate student designated hitter Cole Cherkas
- Moravian doubled the advantage to 4-0 with two runs in the top of the fourth frame. Graduate student David Olsakowski connected on a one-out double before Vozzo singled and Harrar was hit by a pitch to load the bases. Freshman third baseman Troy Rabosky ripped a two-out, two-RBI single to chase Olsakowski and Vozzo home
- The Hounds stretched the edge to 6-0 with a pair of runs in the sixth inning. Cherkas walked with one out, and Rabosky connected on a two-out double. Sophomore right fielder Matt Westcott followed with a two-RBI single as Cherkas and Rabosky touched the plate
- The Eagles got onto the scoreboard with two runs in the bottom of the sixth to cut the score to 6-2
- Moravian countered with five runs in the top of the seventh to push the lead to 11-2. Freshman center fielder Luke Keitsock and Olsakowski both walked with one out before Vozzo ripped an RBI single to score Keitsock. Cherkas drew a walk to load the bases again while Harrar drew an RBI walk to push Olsakowski home. Rabosky connected on a two-RBI double to score Cherkas and Vozzo while Westcott had an RBI groundout to chase Harrar home
- Juniata finished off the scoring with a run in the bottom of the ninth inning
Inside the Numbers
- Moravian collected 11 hits to go with 11 walks and two hit batters
- Rabosky went 3-for-5 with three RBIs, a double and a run while Vozzo was 2-for-4 with three runs and an RBI
- Cherkas and Olsakowski each had a hit and a run with Cherkas adding an RBI and Olsakowski hitting a double
- Harrar was 1-for-3 with two RBIs and a run while Budick had a hit, a run and a double
- Westcott contributed a hit and three RBIs while junior first baseman Sean Superka added a hit and Keitsock scored a run
- Freshman Andrew Sagrestano made the start on the mound and recorded eight strikeouts in six innings of action while sophomore Wes Griffith pitched an inning. Senior Chris Medei struck out two batters in one inning of work while freshman Luke Piripavel had one strikeout in the ninth
