Moravian Drops Series Finale at Drew
MADISON, N.J. --- The Moravian University baseball team dropped a 9-3 decision at Drew University Tuesday in the final game of a Landmark Conference series.

How It Happened
- The Greyhounds opened the scoring with a run in the top of the third inning. Sophomore first baseman Wyatt Harrar drew a leadoff walk and scored on an RBI sacrifice fly by freshman shortstop David Vozzo
- The Hounds doubled the advantage to a 2-0 in the top of the fifth inning on a one-out solo home run by graduate student designated hitter Cole Cherkas, his sixth homer of the season and the 14th of his career as he moved into sole possession of fourth place in the Moravian record book
- The Rangers got onto the scoreboard with five runs in the bottom of the fifth inning for a 5-2 edge, and Drew added a run in the bottom of the sixth to make it 6-2
- The Blue & Grey scored again in the top of the eighth when Vozzo was hit by a pitch and eventually raced home on an RBI fielder's choice by freshman second baseman Nathan Jones
- The Rangers answered with three runs in the bottom half of the eighth to finish off the scoring
Inside the Numbers
- Moravian had six hits in the game with Jones going 2-for-4 with an RBI
- Cherkas had a homer, an RBI and a run while Harrar added a double and scored once
- Senior right left fielder Nick Henry and freshman third baseman Troy Rabosky each had a hit while Vozzo scored once
- Senior Matt Snyder made the start on the mound and recorded two strikeouts in three innings of action. Freshman EJ Youngling had one strikeout in an inning of work while sophomore Ryan Grill added a strikeout in a third of an inning. Freshman Luke Piripavel tossed two-thirds of an inning while sophomores Nick Leonard and Nate McBride and freshman Tyler Bonelli all had one strikeout in an inning of action
