Greyhounds Drop Final Non-Conference Game of 2025 Campaign at Cairn
LANGHORNE, Pa. --- The Moravian University baseball squad dropped a 15-5, seven-inning decision to host Cairn University Wednesday in the Greyhounds’ final non-conference game of the 2025 season.

How It Happened
- The Hounds jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the top of the first inning. Graduate student center fielder David Olsakowski, graduate student first baseman Cole Cherkas and freshman third baseman Troy Rabosky all drew walks to load the bases before freshman designated hitter Ronnie Werkheiser connected on an RBI single to bring in Olsakowski. Freshman shortstop David Vozzo followed with an RBI sacrifice fly to score Cherkas
- The Highlanders answered in the bottom of the first inning with eight runs to take an 8-2 advantage
- Moravian pushed a pair of runs home in the top of the second frame to make it 8-4. Junior catcher James Ruban III was hit by a pitch to start the inning while Olsakowski drew another walk. Rabosky ripped a two-RBI double to chase Ruban and Olsakowski home
- Cairn scored a single run in the third inning, one in the fourth and five runs in the fifth to stretch the lead to 15-4
- The Blue & Grey finished off the scoring with a run in the top of the seventh inning. Olsakowski drew his fourth walk to lead off the inning, and he later scampered home on a wild pitch
Inside the Numbers
- Moravian had four hits with Rabosky going 1-for-2 with two RBIs and a double
- Vozzo was also 1-for-2 with an RBI while Werkheisr had a hit and an RBI
- Senior second baseman Nick Henry had a single in the third inning to become the 45th player in program history to reach 100 career hits and the fourth this season
- Olsakowski scored three times with his four walks while Ruban and Cherkas both scored once
- Sophomore Nick Leonard started the game on the mound and had two strikeouts in an inning of action while sophomore Caden Ward added one strikeout in two innings. Freshman Luke Piripavel had one strikeout in an inning of work while freshman Cam Elicier recorded two strikeouts in the final two innings
