Moravian Sweeps Lycoming to Clinch Postseason Berth
WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. --- The Moravian University softball squad swept host Lycoming College, 4-0 and 6-3, in Landmark Conference action Saturday to clinch a berth in the 2026 Landmark Conference Tournament.

How It Happened – Game #1
- The Greyhounds took a 1-0 lead in the top of the fourth inning. Junior right fielder Kyra Holtje led off with a double, and she scored on an RBI single from senior pitcher Sarah DeStefano
- The Blue & Grey added a run in the top of the sixth frame for a 2-0 edge. Senior third baseman Sydney Andrews reached on an error and raced around the bases on an RBI double by Holtje
- Moravian finished off the scoring with a pair of runs in the top of the seventh. Sophomore designated player Amelia Noll hit a one out double before freshman Nicole Giglio came into pinch run. Junior center fielder Shayla Morgan hit an infield single and stole second base to put two runners in scoring position. Freshman left fielder Natalie Chloros followed with a two-RBI single as Giglio and Morgan raced home
- DeStefano made the start in the circle, and she scattered three hits while striking out four for the shutout victory
How It Happened – Game #2
- The Hounds jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the top of the first inning. Chloros started the game with a single while Andrews walked. Holtje followed with a three-run homer to left field
- Lycoming answered with single runs in the bottom of the first and fourth innings to cut the deficit to 3-2.
- Moravian pushed a run home in the top of the fifth to make it 4-2. Holtje got things going with a single and a stolen base. After a groundout moved Holtje to third, she scampered home on a wild pitch
- The Warriors countered with a run in the bottom of the sixth frame to make it a one-run game again
- The Blue & Grey finished off the contest with a pair of runs in the top of the seventh. Andrews led off with an infield single while Holtje connected on a two-run homer to give her four home runs on the season and eight in her career
- Holtje started pitching for the Greyhounds, and she had a pair of strikeouts in four innings of work while senior Natalie Otto had one strikeout in three innings to earn her first career save
Inside the Numbers
- Moravian registered 19 hits on the day with Holtje going 5-for-8 with six RBIs, four runs, a pair of doubles and two home runs in the doubleheader
- Morgan went 3-for-4 with a run while DeStefano was 3-for-7 with an RBI
- Chloros contributed two hits, two RBIs and a run while sophomore first baseman Kaley Hoffman had two hits
- Andrews scored three runs to go with a hit while Noll, sophomore catcher Sydney Scarpato and senior catcher/designated player Marcie Silberman all had one hit
- Giglio scored once
