Top 10 Stories of 2024-25 - #2 Softball Wins Landmark Conference & NCAA Regional Titles
BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- Moravian University is continuing its look back at its 2024-25 athletic campaign. The next entry in our second countdown of the summer – the Top 10 Stories of the Year selected by the athletic administration – is our No. 2 highlight – the softball program winning the 2025 Landmark Conference and NCAA Division III Bethlehem (Pa.) Regional and hosting an NCAA Super Regional.

The next entry in our second countdown of the summer – the Top 10 Stories of the Year selected by the athletic administration – is our No. 2 highlight – the softball program winning the 2025 Landmark Conference and NCAA Division III Bethlehem (Pa.) Regional and hosting an NCAA Super Regional.
On Sunday, May 11, the Greyhounds posted a 5-2 victory over The Catholic University of America at Blue & Grey Field to capture the 2025 Landmark Conference Championship. The title was the third straight and 12th Landmark Conference championship for the Hounds, and it was the program's 20th overall conference title. The win capped a 2-0 series mark over the Cardinals in a best-of-three finals after the tournament setup was adjusted by weather. Moravian trailed 2-0 in the game before scoring five runs in the top of the sixth with graduate student second baseman and tournament Most Valuable Player Ajala Elmore hitting a three-RBI single and sophomore designated player Kyra Holtje adding a two-RBI single.

On Saturday, May 17, Moravian completed its run through the NCAA Division III Bethlehem (Pa.) Regional to capture the program's seventh NCAA regional title with a 3-1 win over Eastern University. The Hounds defeated Worcester State (Mass.) University, 10-2, and Williams (Mass.) College, 1-0, in the other victories in the regional as the Greyhounds hosted for the second straight spring at Blue & Grey Field. The Hounds led 2-0 after a two-RBI single from senior left fielder Sage Snyder in the fourth inning, and the Blue & Grey added a run on an error as sophomore center fielder Shayla Morgan raced home in the fifth. Junior pitcher and regional Most Outstanding Player Sarah DeStefano came in for her first career save while Holtje earned the win.

Moravian was selected to host an NCAA Division III Super Regional at Blue & Grey Field on May 23-24 versus Randolph-Macon (Va.) College. It was the Hounds' fourth Super Regional appearance and first opportunity to host. The Hounds lost the opener, 5-0 in 12 innings, before a 10-5 victory forced the if necessary game. Moravian's season came to a close with a 1-0 loss on Saturday, May 24 as the squad finished the season with a 40-9 record.
