DeStefano Honored as Moravian Sodexo Student-Athlete of the Week
BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- Senior pitcher/outfielder Sarah DeStefano of the Moravian University’s softball team has been honored as the Sodexo Student-Athlete of the Week for her performance last week.
BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- Senior pitcher/outfielder Sarah DeStefano of the Moravian University's softball team has been honored as the Sodexo Student-Athlete of the Week for her performance last week.
DeStefano helped the Greyhounds to a 3-1 week in non-conference action as she went 2-0 in the circle with a shutout and a 0.00 ERA with DeStefano allowing just seven hits and a walk to go with 10 strikeouts in 13 innings. She was 3-for-10 at the plate with two runs, two RBIs, two sacrifice bunts and a stolen base, and DeStefano added a putout and five assists in six chances in the field. DeStefano posted a 4-0 shutout at rival Muhlenberg with five strikeouts and just a walk and two hits in seven innings. She then tossed six shutout innings with five hits, no walks and five strikeouts in a 9-3 victory at Ursinus College.
The Greyhounds are slated to return to action on Saturday, April 4 in a Landmark Conference doubleheader at Susquehanna University beginning at 1:00 p.m.
The Sodexo Student-Athlete of the Week is selected on Mondays by Moravian's Student-Athlete Advisory Committee. Sodexo will be giving each week's winner a free Starbucks drink at DeLight's Café.
