BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- Jim Walker, former head men’s basketball coach, men’s tennis coach and athletic director, is being inducted into the Moravian University Athletic Hall of Fame on Friday, October 24 in Johnston Hall beginning at 6:00 p.m.

Walker, who retired after the 2014-15 season, amassed a 442-440 record during his time in Bethlehem on the basketball court, and a career coaching mark of 456-452 in 36 years after getting his coaching career started with a year at Drew University for the 1978-79 season. Walker guided the Greyhounds to two NCAA Tournament bids, including one in 2007-08, 10 conference playoff appearances and six of his teams earned national rankings. In 2007-08, Walker and his staff earned Landmark Conference Coaching Staff of the Year honors while leading Moravian College to a runner-up finish in the conference and a berth in the NCAA Division III Tournament. Walker led the 2012-13 Greyhounds to an ECAC South postseason appearance. He also led the Greyhounds to a Commonwealth League title in 1995-96 and was named the Commonwealth League Coach of the Year. He earned Middle Atlantic Conference Southwest Section Coach of the Year honors in 1987-88 and 1988-89, and Walker guided Moravian to the ECAC South title in in 1983-84. The 1987-88 team set the program record with 19 wins and won an MAC Southern Division Semifinal game.
Walker was Moravian's men's tennis coach from 1979 until 2009, and his career includes the 1996 Middle Atlantic Conference Commonwealth League championship and several conference playoffs appearances with a berth in the 2009 Landmark Conference Championship match. Walker guided the tennis squad to 192 career victories. He was a ranked player in the Middle States Tennis Association and was a teaching member of the Professional Tennis Registry. He also directed the Greyhound tennis and basketball camps in the summer and the annual Fall Basketball Coaches Clinic at Moravian. Walker also served two stints as interim director of athletics for the Greyhounds.
Walker is being joined by softball All-American Jennifer E. Dalickas '15; All-American men's cross country and track runner Dillon M. Farrell '15; All-American long jumper and triple jumper Micah E. Leonard '13 S '18; All-American defensive lineman Allen W. Petros Jr., DMD '12 and All-American baseball shortstop David Zubia '12 in the class of 2025 being inducted Moravian Athletic Hall of Fame. The 2010 baseball squad will also be honored on Friday, October 24 in Johnston Hall as part of Moravian's Family Day Weekend.
