2010 Baseball Team - New Moravian Hall of Fame Inductee
BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- The 2010 Baseball Team is being inducted into the Moravian University Athletic Hall of Fame on Friday, October 24 in Johnston Hall beginning at 6:00 p.m.
BETHLEHEM, Pa. --- The 2010 Baseball Team is being inducted into the Moravian University Athletic Hall of Fame on Friday, October 24 in Johnston Hall beginning at 6:00 p.m.
]The 2010 baseball team had a 26-15 record on the year including a 14-4 mark in the Landmark Conference regular season. The squad captured its first Landmark Conference title at Gillespie Field before heading to Trenton, New Jersey where the team played in its first-ever NCAA Division III Regional. Five Hounds were named to the Landmark All-Conference Teams with pitcher Chris Morrison and third baseman Jon Baltz selected to the First Team and first baseman Kevin O'Keefe, pitcher Brendan Close and shortstop David Zubia, a member of the 2025 Moravian Hall of Fame Class, honored on the Second Team. Morrison was selected as the Landmark Conference Pitcher of the Year while Head Coach Paul Engelhardt and his staff was honored as the Landmark Conference Coaching Staff of the Year.
The other members of the squad were Zach Andes, Brad Bodine, Scott Brady, Matthew Cordes, Ryan Cummings, Andrew DeLio, Rocco Del Priore, Thomas Fenyak, Jason Huber, Matthew Kensecki, Kyle Longernecker, Joe Melchionna, Jacob Millen, Brandon Palmisano, Matthew Pezzato, Dustin Pflug, Aaron Popovice, Austin Rock, Jake Schweitzer, Richard Schultz, Blake Shortall, Philip Spence, Gregg Steinman, Tyler Thompson, Frank Trautz, Wayde Williams and Mike Zubia. The coaching staff included John Connell, Ian Law, Scott Stewart and John Trach.
Joining the 2010 baseball squad is softball All-American Jennifer E. Dalickas '15; All-American men's cross country and track runner Dillon M. Farrell '15; All-American long jumper and triple jumper Micah E. Leonard '13 S '18; All-American defensive lineman Allen W. Petros Jr., DMD '12; All-American shortstop David Zubia '12 and former head men's basketball and men's tennis coach Jim Walker in the class of 2025 being inducted Moravian Athletic Hall of Fame on Friday, October 24 in Johnston Hall as part of Moravian's Family Day Weekend.
